CR5 - Incomplete

Ran this am but at 27 mins couldn't carry on. Slowing down didn't seem to help, nothing did.

It was very hot - was right by a window at the gym. No excuses though, first run where I haven't finished. Thinking I also need to upgrade my very old/hot gym gear. Thoughts?

We can never have too much running gear! Some lightweight stuff will help a lot over the summer too.

Some days running sucks, the next run is usually a lot smoother. We will adapt to the warmer weather, but not as quickly as we’d like... hot runs can be a struggle. Go deliberately slowly at the start and ease into the run, running slowly at the beginning should help more thanslowing down later.

Thank you. I will def upgrade to some better lightweight gear & I think starting off deliberately slowly on my next run is a great tip!

27 minutes is still brilliant, especially as you felt as though you needed to stop earlier. When its hotter, try and drink more before working out? Sorry, i know its an obvious thing to say. I'm sure you'll ace your next run, everyone has the bleah ones.

Thank you! Think water, or lack of, may have contributed. Know not to give myself a hard time as 10 or so weeks ago running for 27 mins would have been amazing!

I cut my run short too today. It is suddenly a lot hotter here and I set off at noon, really felt hard going. Let's just dust ourselves down and hopefully have a more enjoyable one next time!

Fingers crossed for both of us, thank you!

It's a blip on an otherwise upward trend! Don't be too hard on yourself and go get some new gear! Keep running!

Thanks anfidm!! New gear coming up!

If you live somewhere temperate, how about running outdoors? The slightest breeze can make a big difference in my experience. Also more to look at and think about sometimes helps runs go quicker. Otherwise as everyone has said we all have bad runs and it is only experience that teaches you not to worry. Onwards!

Thanks for this. I really do want to start running outside - and I think this might be the impetus I need!
