Doing the whole thing again – week 2+ completed. Who or what am I competing against?

That’s week 2+ completed. I’ve been doing a lap of the park - 1.25k – and then using the programme as interval training. The first lap is really hard still but just like I remember it the first time round, I get through it. I was wondering who or what I am competing against. It’s not the other runners who I see on my run; they’re all years, decades younger than me so I just let them go and do my own thing. Is it the time or the distance? Yes, I suppose that's part of it. I’m trying to conquer that and go a little bit longer, further, and harder each week. Mainly though, I think it’s me. I have done this before and I got to the stage of 5k three times a week, and that’s the guy I’m trying to catch. I’ve a way to go but I’ll catch him. With another 2.5 pounds off this week it should get easier over time.

well done,

what's it like the 2nd time around? I considered doing it again, but to slow run, fast run, instead of walk run, but I'm going for juju's 10k plan instead.

I may revisit C25K as interval training at some point :)

Thanks for your reply. The main thing is that it's making me run three times a week which is what I needed. I'm shocked by how hard it is but I trust the programme to get me back to where I was before.
