Just finished run 1 of week 2 - KNACKERED!

I know it’s only an extra 30 seconds but oh my god I could feel it! I managed to do every run but the last two I was very close to stopping. Did others find this transition so hard? I’m dreading Wednesday when my muscles will be even more sore! I’ve bought some better trainers so hopefully that will help with my achey knees.

You've got this ! Slow down if you need to and make sure you drink enough water even on non-run days.

Keep up the good work,

Well done.

If you are knackered you are probably going too fast.

Can you speak clear ungasping sentences as you run? if not, you are going too fast.

Slowing down will also reduce the impact on your knees.

Stretch immediately after every run, as linked to in the guide to the plan healthunlocked.com/couchto5... to ease muscle aches.

I’m definitely not going too fast, don’t think I could go slower without walking on the last two runs!

I’m not sure, I’ll see when I go for the next run. I think I’m just really unfit! I wasn’t expecting it to be easy.

You now know kind of what's expected of your body just go slow as you continue . YOU CAN DO THIS. Good luck 😊

Well done for completing this run but go slower! Also if you are still aching on Wednesday do it on Thursday, having 2 days rest is good sometimes. Hope the trainers help

You might have felt like stopping but you didn't! Don't dread the next run, feel confident because you know that you can do it! You've done it already! And yes, slow and steady, build your stamina, slowly does it. Well done you!

Well done you for today! I did run 1 of week 2 today too and yes, that extra 90 seconds made a difference! even though I was going at a slow-enough-to-have-a-conversation-pace, my legs were feeling so tired by the end and I could feel my hamstrings tightening up. Did lots of stretching and rolling about on my leg roller when I got home which seems to have helped. Good luck for Wednesday! 🤞

Thanks everyone! After a day of rest I’m actually looking forward to tomorrow’s run. Didn’t think that would happen!

I remember this week oh so well! The jump from 60 secs to 90 seemed huge. You can do it though. Take an extra day if you need to. Slow it as much as you can and you have this covered!! Trust the program but most importantly trust yourself! Positive mental attitude goes a long way! Good luck and enjoy 😊
