I tried my trainers on a track inside for 10mins running or so yesterday they we so so comfy like running on air they are Brooks Ghost 11 much better than them Nike. The guy at runners need said make sure you try them on inside and make sure they don’t rub etc as I had a gait analysis done there and I’m a neutral but I think if they were going to rub they would of done that 5-10 mins in wouldn’t they as they are a lot of money not to make sure they don’t rub and I would like to do my graduation run in them tomorrow do I need to test again at the gym this afternoon or not?

Fantastic. I ran C25k in Brooks Adrenaline and thought they were wonderful. I have to say, I've not had any of my running shoes rub but I do try to wear them in by walking in them and going to the gym in them before a long run. Why not wear them to the gym to be on the safe side? Especially as it's your graduation run!

Ps - people tend to say that once you've broken them in, it's best to save your running shoes for running and not wear them out with everyday use. Personally, I buy mine at sale prices and basically live in them, but I wouldn't if they were £100+

Very true I can change into them when I’m there and see how I go on in the workout as they were £96 the guy at runners need automatic did a price match online and matched them as they were £120 at the shop and he did them for £96 they also hade Brooks level 2 £65 but the ghost 11 felt the most comfy and looked more durable 😉

Wear them around the house all the time for a short while... just to get used to them:)

Thanks for the advice Kev regarding good running shoes, I hope to go for a gait analysis soon and ask to buy a pair of Brooks Ghost 11 after that.

No problems Alan they are great and highly recommend online and YouTube lots of good reviews have a google and see what you think 😉 even the guy at the shop highly recommend them I know most places try that but he said I’m not trying to sell you them it’s up to you as he did show me cheaper ones and even the guy was wearing them that’s all he runs in 😉

This morning I ran my first full 5k of this year, no PB as I was for the first time running at 155 steps a minute with the "Metrome Beats" app I installed on my phone the other day, I fast walked this exact route a month ago taking just under 49 minutes, today according to Mapmyrun I took 52.16. I will run that same route next week and set the app at 160 steps a minute, my average time last year running a 5K was just under 35 minutes with a PB of 32.25 on October 10th last year.

Nice run Alan and as long as you enjoyed yourself which is the main thing good on you 😉

I am experimenting with this app, I did enjoy the run with no panting, red face or out of breath at the end, I know that I can run a lot faster once I up the app, in fact today once I finished the run and switched off the phone I was 🚶 walking back home faster than I had been 🏃 running. This afternoon I am going for a short cycle 🚴 ride, enjoy your day Kev. 😊 🏃

You enjoy your day to Alan that’s a bonus that you have more energy and endurance to walk back home then go for a bike ride. I’m going to the gym as I left it out yesterday 😉

Great post Kev. I’m thinking of Ghost 11s as I think I need more bounce for my joints than my beloved Launch’s give. The Ghosts seem to be very popular and I can see why, everyone raves about their comfort. The Launchs do rub on the heel so i always alternate with the old pair and wear them to the gym before taking them out on longer runs.

Wishing you many happy miles in your new shoes.

No problems glad to help they are super comfy and the shoe adds support now I see why proper trainers are expensive 😉

Sounds great Kev.

Remember that your feet getter bigger when they get warm . I would wear them for an afternoon or so to see how they then feel.

Enjoy.
