W5R3 was great, and to think I dreaded it...

Things started out funky as I'd forgotten my stretches, so I paused at the end of the warm up to stretch against a helpful tree. My personal trainer is sort of excitable so she didn't like this delay and kept jumping up grabbing her leash (she's about 80lbs) as we started running... she was generally having a blast and was making me laugh. So, when I looked down at my pace 5 minutes in my pace was way too fast to sustain so I slowed it back to my target and... a little over 22 minutes after start, I hit the 2 mile mark. I still had reserve but I decided against using it, both my trainer and I were ready for a nice walk home.

Well done to you. Nothing wrong with having a little extra in the tank at the end. It will be good experience for W7 when you are asked to gun it* for the last 60secs!!

*app does not at any time ask you to 'gun-it' - rather it invites you to increase pace for a strong finish (providing you feel up-to-it, of course).

Thank you! I'm looking forward to working speed a little bit. I've been trying very hard to hold back on working speed, until I have the duration/distance in place. (Personal goal of 5k in under 30 minutes when I quit smoking)

Well done, dude! Its the best feeling, isn't it?

Strangely i think I felt more elated during the programme when I hit the 3 minute mark (proper running!) and W5R3 than I did when i graduated.

What are you waiting for to stop smoking? The best time to stop smoking is 20 years ago or today.

Yah bad wording on my part. I quit smoking 3 months ago, that's what started this running journey.
