Finally... The elusive 5k distance a month after graduation

The forum stresses that the programme is 30 mins running or 5k, but I was still a little disappointed to only be running about 3k on graduation a month ago (still need to collect my badge)! Finally managed 5k tonight... Definitely a case of head blocking this rather than the legs, it had been harder to find motivation after completing the plan, so pleased to reach this milestone! I might have a go at parkrun now!

Yes, it is harder without the plan isn't it !

Well done on your 5k, you must be well chuffed !

Thanks, I am! Bizarrely I did the whole plan running in the mornings, but going out in the evenings in the last couple of weeks seems slightly easier!

Congratulations on getting to 5K. Definitely do a Parkrun soon. You’ll love it.

Thanks! Just got to get myself organised, since I live in countryside so there isn't one in walking distance!

Yeah! Congratulations RunRC. Reaching that 5k target feels good.

Do ask for your Graduate badge though, you earned it when you completed the program...😊

Request it here...

Congratulations on completing C25K. To go from 3K to 5K in a month is an amazing achievement.

Thanks for the encouragement! Hard to think back to that first week seeming so hard now!

Well done! Took me about 6 weeks after graduation to build up to 5K, so you’re not alone! I’m still a 🐢, so needed to build up time on the legs.

Congratulations on passing a big milestone. 🎉👏🏼🎉

Well done, I haven't finished the course yet but can imagine it's harder without the plan.

It was weird how reaching 'the goal' I then found it harder to get out and keep going. A new app has helped though (map my run) so I'm going to try to keep motivated (though I'm sure it is easier with long days and nice weather than it will be in winter!). Keep going, the plan really does work 😀

Hey, that’s fantastic! I graduated last week and I can do 4K but 5 seems such a big step up! You’re an inspiration - keep it going!

Thanks! I think it was my head stopping me, so good luck getting there as well!🏃🏃‍♀️🏃🏃‍♀️

I have completed the C25k programme and am now running infrequently I have done 3 park runs doing 5k in 37 minutes fastest so my goal is to get under 30 but I'm totally lacking motivation. Any ideas?
