Week 7 run 1

Well, I had little to no motivation for this one. So far I've been feeling great. Was even up for W5R3, but now that all the runs are the same I feel I'm looking at a mountain (a very steep one). Did go out and run, and even though it all felt uphill and I reckon the fastest bit was the 5 minute walk at the end I did it. 2 days off now, so hoping the motivation returns by Sunday.

How about trying a different route to get a bit of variety? Local park maybe? Or change what you listen to - lots of people seem to find podcasts or audiobooks better than music as they get to the longer runs. It’s more diverting and following the story distracts from thinking about time.

You’ll do it! 👍👏🏼

Thanks, might try a different route. Might stop me thinking about where I'll be at what time. Enjoy the music, though sometimes try to sing along which doesn't last long and can't sound good. Determined not to give up though!

Great job. You had enough motivation to get to the start line and then enough to close out a run that was tough... dunno how much more motivation you need, but it will come with addiction. 2 days off now should help those legs recover... while week 7 doesn’t look too challenging, it has 75 minutes of just running in it, so it’s not as easy as it may seem. You got this though... fresh legs for run 2 and then you’ll be so much stronger for run 3... week 8 isn’t much extra running.

Enjoy the rest days and take some time to reflect on how far you’ve come... you should be very proud of yourself.

Well done Slownsteady!

You are on Wk7...nice steady running, ease into these runs, finding your way through the first few minutes as you take on oxygen, letting your legs do their thing. A new route will help a lot too, so you are not always stopping at the same spot.

Good luck...keep posting so we can cheer you on!😊x

What's a nice place near you? Plan a route to run there for your next run. Local beauty spot or park or grounds of a national trust property or similar. Something that feels like a treat!
