A much better run than Wk6 Run3, I put that down to the extra rest day. I always like 2 rest days between each week of the programme and I feel much better for it. Apart from that, maybe my new kit is giving me a psychological boost (Yes and hopefully a little fitter too).
The other thing I did different today was kept my eye on pace. My Garmin watch has a 'pace pro' feature so the course I've plotted is split up by (in my case) elevation. It then guides me around the course split by split telling me what pace to change to on each split - quicker on the downhill and much much slower on the uphill. I then also had the metronome on the watch going (a little too slow this time) which was great on the hill because instead of looking ahead and getting mentally beaten by the oncoming climb I just kept my head down counting 1, 2, 3, 4 to keep in sync with the vibrations of my watch. It was very good just to focus on putting one foot in front of the other, keep the pace up and I was almost surprised when I was at the top!
So now the first hill is being nailed, now just to nail the last one, the one nearly home when I'm already knackered!
Roll on Tuesday.

Great run for you today Brian, all that tech is very good, however, try sometime to run without it, particularly after you graduate, onwards and upwards to run 2 of week 7.
Yes, sometimes runners rely too much on all that tech, so at least sometimes you can just relax and in running terms, "run naked" not without clothes πbut without as you put it, paying attention to the gadgets.
Wow, great pace and well done! π And I'm totally with you regarding the psychological effect of new running kit. It really helps me too. Not sure if this is considered doping ... π
