no. check out `japanese running`it got me through the plan injury free.

i graduated in march and do not have to resort to it much now.

Going to look into Japanese running sounds interesting, I'm very new to running and even struggling with the week one day one

yes,i think w1 and w2 were the hardest for me ,15 mins in and gasping with beetroot face, lead legs then worn out the day after.as for `conversation pace`-no way haha ,it does get better.the plan is amazing.

(plenty hydration the day b4 helps lead legs :) )

Thanks for the advice, I will drink lots the day before as l do get the lead legs really badly. It's great to know it's not just me, I've been wondering about why I get them :) you've described how I am feeling when running perfectly, I'd love to be a keen runner eventually I hope I can overcome early days struggle. It is hard to imagine!

I go so slow sometimes that I swear I will go back in time :D

I don't think too slow exists as long as you are running and not walking

Just go at the speed that feels right for you.

Yes, the speed that feels right is right - I do Japanese slow running sometimes too.

I’m another Japanese slow running fan. Google it on YouTube. As long as your feet leave the ground simultaneously at some point in each running step you are running and it doesn’t matter if it’s a slow pace. 😊

As already said below, I’m not sure you can go too slow so long as you’re running. I’m another Japanese slow running fan, I think it suits my age and build but maybe one day I’ll speed up to walking pace!

I am happy at slow jogging at present until my stamina builds up. From being a non runner for 40 year plus, who struggled to run for a bus- I can now shuffle/ jog for 25 mins which is a blo..y miracle so speed can wait for now for me- I suppose it depends how fit you are to start with???🤔😊🐢🏃‍♀️

is a very good motto.

It got me to week 9 run 3 happily, running slowly for thirty minutes.

Then I went on to do 5K Park Run equally slowly. But I did it!

I also fit into trousers now, that I had hidden in the back of the wardrobe just in case I lost the weight. I ate less too spurred on by my increase in fitness.

I can give you a few years too. You can do it! Slowly though.

I’ve tried... but I was still running, so no. Slow running is the best... I love a PB, don’t get me wrong, it feels great when I check my time... but the best runs, the ones I love all the way from start to finish, that I can smile through, they’re the best runs... they’re why I get out there and run.

Thank you, great advice from all as always. Slow and steady wins the race it is then 🏃‍♀️🤪

As someone once said to me: ‘embrace your inner snail 🐌 ‘!

No. The difference between running and walking is gait not speed and the objective of this programme is simply to be able to run for 30 minutes. Once you can do that other options become available, of which learning to run faster is one. But you can’t learn to run faster until you are comfortable running at all. Forget about speed for now. If one foot leaves the ground before the other one lands, that’s running not walking, regardless of how slow it is. You’d be disqualified from a walking race if you did that.
