ADVICE PLEASE

Hello peeps

The Mrs started the C25K a while ago, and with my encouragement got to W4, but then the dreaded school reports and hay fever got in the way. She has had NO exercise for several weeks, and is now ready to get going again.

Should I start her from the beginning again; or should she try and pick-up from where she left off?

I will be running with her ~ knees permitting ~ so I am leaning towards W1R1 for the sake of my old and dodgy joints. What would all the other C25Kers suggest?

I reckon it's back to the start as fitness will be lost I think it's fair to say

Anyway you have to take a back seat on this and let her get on with it. Anything you say or do will be wrong. LOL

I too think start from the beginning, I lose fitness if I take two weeks off!

I would think it was better to go out on week 1 or 2 runs and be able to complete them successfully, than attempt going in on a later week and struggle, you don't want to put her off. Your knees might thank you too :D

Wise words indeed.

I agree that my knees may thank me too. They are getting better; or so I keep telling myself.

What does she think?

She's all up for carrying on from W4, but she is a determined little devil and can never-say-never.

I agree, if she goes back to week 1 she may be pleasantly surprised as I am pretty sure it will feel easier this time. Gives your knees and your wife's joints time to get used to it again. If it seems ultra easy then maybe do 1 run then move to week 2. I wouldn't skip much more than that though. Good for her starting out again.

Thanks. I will try and persuade her to drop back; but that won't be easy! Wish me luck.

I'm sure you'll be fine, just start again and take it easy!
