Sydney Parkrun fabulous location - terrible run

I am very lucky to have to come to work in Sydney this week. Thought it would be rude not to stay on for the weekend! I decided to do the Sydney Parkrun. I am pleased I can say I did it but I am hugely disappointed with my run. Basically I was not able to run for 28mins. I completed the 5k but ended up doing walk/run. The park had some hills and I think I’m developing a mental block about hills. Also think I was just not hydrated enough as I felt very fatigued. So I will need to repeat this run.

I cannot complain about the location though. First time here. What a beautiful city.

The things about parkruns are to enjoy them and you did, even if it meant that you did a little walking, that did not matter too much, perhaps it was a little too hot for you to run all the way, nevertheless you enjoyed your run.

It was a bit hot and I did enjoy it in a weird sort of way.

WOW.!! Certainly beats my parkrun location for today 😂

Don’t be too disappointed, you still got out there and did 5K 👍🏻 Rest up, take it easy and I’m sure you’ll get that 28 minutes next time 😊x

Thanks Coco. True - I did. The fact that I’m even packing running kit is a good step 😂! Will try again on Monday maybe. Depends on how much walking I do around Sydney!

Was that in the Botanical Gardens? If so, I can fully understand needing to do some walking. V hilly. I’m SOOOO jealous that you’re there.

It was Leonard’s Park in North Sydney but I was in the Botanical Gardens earlier today and it’s hilly there too!

Well done for trying and well done for stopping!! Too hot and not enough hydration will stop anyone in their tracks!!!

Great location.. wow!!!

Looks amazing! It looks like “The Three Hs” - Hills, heat and hydration were lurking, but you made a memory nonetheless 😊.

Ooooh, very jealous of even a walk in that fabulous location. Just remember that location and ignore the stats. You can start an album of Iconic Places I Have Run. 🎉
