Because all my running buddies are out on a charity run this evening, and I have to take a poorly chicken to the vet, I decided that I would run this afternoon.
‘But it’s so hot!’ I hear you cry. Aha! Went to the local forest, where I could run mainly in deliciously cool shade, accompanied by squirrels and butterflies.
I boogied my way around, accompanied by Earth, Wind and Fire (well, joffled, really), and it felt so easy! I found myself going faster than usual, and managed the last 40 seconds with a longer stride and faster pace! I love this running lark! I can actually do it! 😃
Bring on week 5! 🤨💪✊

Yeh I agree. 3rd run and ur kinda thinking, dunno what I was making a fuss about. Mind, on Sunday I’m bk to run 1 so I’ll b trying to stay positive. Although I think I’ll be ok as I run through a lot of the rest periods anyway. It’s the hills that are killer. I have one hill that I’m determined to beat. Maybe in week 3. Not jus yet.
Great on your progress. Did w5r1 yesterday, and as I have misorientated myself, ended up with a 5-mile walk/jog. Still tired as I have not planned that.
Forest runs are ace, aren't they? The shade is so welcome on a day like this and there's always something interesting to see. Sounds like you had a great run.
Well done, you will hopefully enjoy Week 5 for the variation that it brings and it’s a great week to prepare you for the solid runs in the latter part of the programme. Soak it up.
