...and then some.
Did today’s run as my first ever park run. Was only supposed to run for 20 minutes, but when my favourite running song (Party Hard by Andrew WK, it’s great for pacing myself) finished, only a few minutes after Sarah Millican told me to slow down to a five minute cool down walk... BUT I STILL HAD A LAP LEFT!!
So, because I was too proud to walk through the finish line, and I felt like I had it in me, I kept on running.
Sarah then piped up to tell me my 5 minute cool down walk had finished. But I still had half a lap left to the finish line, and I felt like I had it in me, I kept on running.
I ran through the finish line in 35 minutes, totalling 30 minutes on continuous running. Keeping my pace comfortable and having no problem piping up the occasional “scuse me” as I passed others (being able to talk is how I judge if I’m going too fast or not!)
On Monday (W6R1 & my 31st birthday) I promise to only stick to the prescribed run. Walking when told to and running when told to. But I just wanted to push myself.
Now I’m in no doubt I’ll be able to finish C25K!!!
