Hi, I'm looking for a decent app. Tried Strava for my last 2 runs - registered 0.3km and 0.7km ☹ 😑. Any advice or recommendations would be greatly appreciated!!

Strava is brilliant for recording our runs... linked with Garmin... many of us use it...check your settings maybe.

When you say 'linked with Garmin'.... what do you mean? (Sorry if this is a stupid question, I'm new to this πŸ˜”)

Hi, I use MapMyRun- it’s free to download and has always worked well and consistently for me.

Assuming your runs were not 0.3k and 0.7k then it may be your hardware that is faulty.

All the apps work well on good phones, but if the GPS unit is poor then it will not matter what apps you use.

It could also be that you are in a poor reception area.

Yep - defo done more than that! I use a Samsung S9 - i assume is a good piece of mobile phone kit...but running kit, not so sure...reception area? Again, not so sure

The GPSr is in the hardware, so it’s unlikely that changing tracker will help. Personally I run with Nike Run Club for the guided runs and free plans. When I go for a 30 minute run, I don’t care about distance just like when I run x miles I don’t care about time... so while that 0.3 and 0.7 would be frustrating, it wouldn’t be an issue.

Thanks! May have to give that one a go too, see which one works best for me. Thanks for the advice πŸ˜€

We had this with strava and my hubbys S8. It had gone flat and when he recharged it, it automatically put on battery saver. Strava won't tell you that it is on and needs to be off, and it took us a while to realise this.

I have also had Strava just not work for me on a couple of occasions too, possibly the satellites or my phone!

Good luck, hope you sort it as it is a good app normally.

Exactly, everyone seems to rate it! First time, I was disappointed but the second time, was just so frustrating. Thanks for the tip, I'll have a look 😊
