I am about to hit the dreaded week 6 run 3.... which I can’t wait for. I’m loving running!

Can anyone recommend a good app that can monitor my distance as right now I have no idea how far I’m running!

Thanks all!

You could download the Strava app to your phone !

It has a free version which is all I use .

You can use it to record your runs directly

The Nike Run Club App is boss :) x

It depends on which type of phone you're using. Some apps are only available for iOS (Apple) and some only for Android.

I use Runkeeper and I am getting on just fine with it.

Most people have Strava but it can be inaccurate, as they all can be with a phone. Consider a nice garmin watch if you’re really into running 👍🏽

Why is W6R3 dreaded?????

If you are dreading runs then maybe you need to alter your mental approach.....this post may help healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

I’m not dreading it... as I said I’m looking forward to it. Just heard people talking about it being really quite tricky. I’m in a good head space and ready for the challenge. Loving the running, and loving the progress. But I’ll take a look at what you have posted.

I really looked forward to W6R3... I knew I had 20 in me, the other two runs in the week were tough intervals... just running was a joy! I’m sure it will be for you too.

I used Nike Run Club guided runs from the first 25 minute run... much more coaching than on the C25K app, but that suited me as much of it was reminding me to keep the pace down.

Have a great run.

Good on you - if you’ve managed everything so far 6-3 will be no problem

I use MapMyRun - you can set it with time/distance reminders depending on preference.

Personally I also have Fitbit Charge 3 and reassuringly the 2 apps give same distance/time results.

I like MapMyRun too! I like how the voice pops up each km and tells you your pace. Beware though, the stats get addictive!

That’s interesting. I use Strava but the free version is too basic and sometimes it doesn’t work at all well. I might switch to MapMyRun if it’s free.

Stats are good but not something I want to pay a subscription for. In the old days, I just carried a simple stop watch. 🧐

I use my fitbit charge 3 and use it all the time.I love the fact that it gives you distance, time, and average running speed per km .

Week 6 runs 1 and 2 I didn’t like, it all got a lot better from 6.3 as your improving fitness allows you to do the continuous runs and get into a steady pace.

As to tracking, I treat myself to a Fitbit charge 4 around week 4 in the plan, I’ve since upgraded this to a Garmin forerunner 245 watch which I love. Both these sync directly to Strava once in range of your phone (via Bluetooth)

Nike Run and Runkeeper together. Nike run you can set for time or distance and it tells you how you are getting on incrementally ie every half mile if set for distance.

I downloaded a Hauweui app that came with my partners phone, i asked it to map my run the other day and it was great. I needed to hit the excercise button and choose run, it was easy, and free.
