Running app?

I'm getting close to completing C25K and looking forward I would like to find an android app that will tell me when I've been running for a period I can define (eg Walk 5mins, run 16 mins, run 16 mins, Cool down 5 mins). There are loads of running apps out there, but the bit I really like about the C25K app is the way it softens my music playback (I'm using MediaMonkey) when Steve Cram is telling me I can do it! Does anyone know of a running app that will do something similar when it is telling me I've completed a section of the run/walk?

I use the free version of Runkeeper for exactly that purpose. Attached a screenshot of the window where you can program different intervals. It will only have three instructions : “slow”, “steady”, and “fast” and I used “slow” for walk.

Runkeeper has also fun motivational voices cheering you on. It’s the tracker that I keep going every single run, whilst I explore runnjng with other apps, such as NRC.

Hope this helps,

If you like guided runs a lot of us are fans of the Nike Running Club (NRC) app. You can program a distance or time you want to run, though not intervals etc but if you like to have someone telling you what to do there are literally hundreds of guided runs to choose from - intervals, speed runs, fartleks, mindfulness runs and a lot more.

The app is free, you don't need to buy Nike stuff to use it. It has taught me a lot about how to improve and enjoy my running. You can play your music in the background, it fades away when the coach speaks.

Good luck with your running! It gets even better :)

I was against it for irrational "Nike" reasons, but it is totally non-pushy and I love the motivational stuff they throw at you.

NRC seconded. Running since 2014. Started NRC this year and it has opened my eyes. The coaching is superb.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I'll give NRC & Runkeeper a try and choose a winner.
