Ok so I'm not THAT old and i didn't actually swallow a fly but there were a few close ones! The heat seems to have brought out the bugs.
Talking of heat. That was a horrible run. I didn't get any rhythm going, I couldn't catch my breath, I was too hot, I hated every minute of it. And my fingers swelled up like sausages Then I meet my best friends husband running towards me aka Mr competing for team GB triathlon team.... I was at 28 mins so not looking my best! π€¦ββοΈ Though I have to say he has been one of the most supportive people and always asks how it's going ππ
So positive bit, I ran it all (just) even the hump back bridge at 26mins. I just kept saying you did this on Saturday you can damn well do it today. And i got to try out my new running visor and water bottle
Fingers crossed this is my crappy run and graduation will be a breeze ππ
Happy running folks xxx

you will sail through the last one on a high as in your mind it is the end of the journey started nine weeks ago. I felt really excited about R3 it was like sitting an exam at the end of a lot of revision. I knew I could do it but still felt would it be an anti climax when I finished...NO NOT ONE BIT loved it. Get Rag n Bone man Giant on your music list best record to end on....we are giants all of us...good luck will be looking for the I don't it postxx
You just reminded me of something. I listen to Sara Cox on radio 2 when I run and the gods were looking down on me today when I needed it most. Just before i got to the hump back bridge they started playing Barry Manalows Copacabana. You can't help but smile and sing along. πΆπ€π
It was a little hot for me this evening too on my run, I completed my run but I was glad it was over. The way I see it, every run teaches us something about our relationship with running, we pick up likes and dislikes along the way and even in the later weeks the challenge continues to surprise us. Everyone talks about that one bad run, everyone gets it, maybe this is yours, but you know what, you completed it, so it can't be that bad hey! All the best for W9R3, superstar!
We all have runs like this so donβt despair, itβs being positive about future runs thatβs the key. Loved the phrase about sausage fingers ππ
Well done. Jo Whiley's podcast kept on reminding me to think more positive. Instead of it hate this, I love this also, to look at my surroundings and take in the beauty.
First time I tried I thought it was a pile of poop but I kept on and there is definitely something in it. Really did help.
Thanks, normally I'm happy taking in my surroundings but it was just bad. I really really hate being too hot. May have to consider running before work π±π±π±
Iβm loving the new kit!! And know what you mean about the heat... my main form of hydration on run seems to be swallowing my own sweat (nice image!!) Am seriously contemplating buying towelling head/wrist bands Γ la 1980s... π
Aww well done Jogunlikely , it wasnβt your best run by the sounds of it but the main thing is you finished itπ The graduation run is just in sight, have a nice rest day and go for it, you have done amazing to get this far, enjoy the finale πβοΈπΎ
OMG - you are SOOOO close.... my advice for W9 R3 - do it nice and slow... really slow.... it does help and it's a great feeling if you get an enjoyable Graduation Run.
I still have 'bad runs' (not too often) and I'm a month on. I'm planning my longer routes so that one day I can actually do 5k (I can only do about 3 km) and I'm picking out (with mapmyrun) some lovely downhill (gradual) runs and asking my Hubby to meet me at the end in the car (bless him).
Ah well Ninja runners π€ should never reveal themselves π€£ i always seem to be wearing black!
Simple answer is probably not, sorry x I hate having my picture taken at the best of times let alone when all hot and sweaty π± but never say never xx
I have just seen your post...cracking job, well done you...feel proud, it is quite an achievement.
Nice read up. Looks like youβve also bought some snazzy gear. I prefer shorts when itβs hot and a breathable T-shirt. I do usually go for a run at 5 am so miss the super hot weather. I always find it awkward when Iβm having a run which Iβm struggling and pass another runner or a walker. Not sure why π€·π»ββοΈ I probably shouldnβt care.
