W9R2 - I am not a morning person

Well, not as far as running is concerned. But the weather forecast for this afternoon is heavy rain, and it was the lesser of two evils. So after two hours of homework where I managed to write only one small paragraph, I put my kit on and set off.

I think sheer stubbornness kept me going - it's the first run in a long time that i've wanted to stop and walk; my lets felt like lead today, the sun came out briefly and I got so hot I wished I'd had water with me. Mastered the art of taking off my running jacket whilst still running and listened gratefully to Laura counting down the minutes.

As soon as I got back I downed two glasses of water, so am wondering if I wasn't properly hydrated before I went out? Or maybe it was just one of those days.

So, graduation beckons Friday. Not sure I'm looking forward to it.

  • Some days the planets align and the run goes swimmingly. Other days nothing seems to go to plan. We have to take the rough with the smooth. We can always salvage something from a run and thank goodness we are off the couch πŸ˜€

I hate having to take my jacket off mid run. Does my head in πŸ˜€

  • The main thing is you got out there and you did it so well done 😊

Good luck for Friday and enjoy it. That feeling when you finish is just awesome. Honest. πŸ’ͺπŸƒπŸ’ͺπŸƒ

  • Well done - it was out of routine, uncooperative weather, and not feeling great, and you still did it! 😊😊

    Enjoy Friday...! :)

  • Hmmmmnn, Friday's going to be a funny kind of day :) :( ...xx

  • Maybe a bit of an off day? but hopefully R3 will be a better run! Don't normally get 2 bad runs in a row I've found!! Roll on Friday and good luck :-D

  • Well done on getting through it and getting the jacket off mid run, that alone is a major feat ;)

Good luck for Friday, you can do this x

  • You ran and you did it... :) Good Luck Friday.. the podium awaits with all of us ready to party!

Put this run behind you and think how great Friday's run will be :)

  • What time are you running on Friday? (just getting the champers chilled)... If it's Friday and it's five to five, you might get a Crackerjack pencil along with your shiny badge!

Well done on run 2... only 30 minutes to go 😊😊😊

  • Ha - Crackerjack - that takes me back a bit!

  • Lead legs are a scunner. But they happen sometimes. Well done for persevering!

  • "Scunner"! I haven't head that word for ages. It's widely used in Ireland too πŸ™‚

  • Well done for getting through it.

It's hard to be sure, or course, but it does sound like you were dehydrated before starting off.

  • Yes, I think you're right. Need to be more careful in the future.
