Well did my 5k run for our Tri For Life relay team and was waiting for my time to tell you all as Miss Garmin ran out of battery half way around. Well our team finished in 1.46.19 which was 144th out of 255 competitors! Very happy with that and hopefully can get individual event times later on today. Great day out for all the family, especially as it was literally on my back door!

Hadn't done a 5k for ages and I was determined to run it all which I did, even in that 2pm heat yesterday! Has given me the bug again so back on line today to look for my next event (no charity ones this time).

We have had numerous discussions here in the past about friends and family not encouraging you or being interested in your running. Well the BEST news from my weekend is that my darling husband was there to see me run for the first time and actually cheered me up the very tough hill finish. He told me last night that he didn't realise how much it meant to me and he was very impressed that I have kept it up and he enjoyed the day. He said it was nice that I had something to do for myself. He also said I was a great roll model for our children.........lumpy throat!! So happy that the penny has dropped with DH.

Hope you all had a good weekend and are enjoying this lovely Indian Summer.

Yay! Take it that means you managed to scrape together enough money to compete? Yesterday was so hot wasn't it? Too hot for running! Great news about DH, that's some lovely words he said, would have given me a lump in my throat too :) looking forward to see if you get a split time, darn Miss Garmin going flat!

Just got the split time, 34.26 really happy with this, have aimed to keep my 5K under 35! Transition was only 1.13 which is good too!

Thanks net68, have been scouring for next event but only thing I can find is a duathlon in 10 days at Silverstone which sounds great but my bike partner can't make it......might have to take up cycling now!

Thanks Ully, it was no fun when DH scowled as he had to mind the kids again so hopefully that will all change now!
