Think my face says it all! I decided to ring the changes by choosing the mainly uphill route in my local woods. Oh boy, did I feel it! Whoever said on here recently that running uphill is kinder on the knees - you have a lot to answer for! My bum feels like it's on π₯!!! π π π I also didn't make it to 3km this time but I am not too bothered about the distance thing, that can be my challenge after graduation. Am going to do a lovely FLAT run on Thursday or Friday for my graduation run. Can't wait!
Week 9, Run 2 - that was a tough one! - Couch to 5K
Week 9, Run 2 - that was a tough one!
Well Done Debston. I bet your face was redder and you took longer to get your breath back in weeks 1&2?
I certainly did. Now, touch wood,I seem to get to normal, a lot quicker. That is a great improvement for me. I finish W9R3 on Saturday. See you on the podium. Just started reading Iannoda Truffeβs gospel
- Finished C25K? what next ?
The other bit? Avoid curry and try talc. Enjoy your flat run.
well done Debston almost there - enjoy a nice flat run to the podiumπ
Thanks! I'm looking forward to it but I think I'm going to miss the structure of C25K so I'll carry on with listening to the app for a good while longer.
I am with you there! Repeat Laura week9, was my plan.
I just found a reputed goddess of C25K has worked on AfterC25K.
Real Foodie Club has a website-
realfoodieclub.ovh/page18.html
Have a look. Seems to have structure. Even includes a video each week by the looks of things. Some core exercises too. Donβt know about you, but I am content to jog, rather than do a four minute mile. The website is labelled PLODDING WITH PRIDE!
I like that. I will attempt to guesstimate my time per km. and then select an appropriate set of guidance. See you there perhaps?
That is a nice photo of you Debston, your face is not too red, good luck for your graduation run on Thursday or Friday, I am sure you will be able to make it in 3K.
Well done , just 1 run to go.
I know, eek! Honestly never thought I'd get to this point when I started, I am so chuffed that I stuck with the programme. I feel like Superwoman! π
You have done fantastic. You'll still have to update us on how your getting on post couch to 5k.
π¦Ήπ»ββοΈπ π Runner! Debston!
Well done Debston! π As you say - as long as you're able to do what you've done again later this week your Graduate Badge awaits ππ and then you can work on trimming down the seconds or minutes if that's what you choose to do.
As Hatman has said yesterday, giving the following a read after your final run may prove handy:

I wish you all the best for you (flatter) FINAL run of C25k! π
Thanks Mik3B, I am really looking forward to seeing that Graduate badge next to my name very soon! Long term, I will be very happy just to stick with running 3 times a week but short term... I have entered myself in a 5k run on 9 June so I would love to have run 5k by then. I'm pretty slow and I would love to get a bit nearer to running 5k in 30 minutes. Having said that, I will be delighted just to get a medal for finishing the course so not going to put too much pressure on myself to whizz along!
Hakuna matata (no worries) Superwoman! Don't worry I'm 100% sure if you're running 3 times a week that you'll be reaching 5k before 9/6 - methinks you're capable of more than you think. Just take it slow and steady and you'll be hunky dory. 5k in 30 mins will take a bit of practice - that's averaging 6 mins per km for 5km. I think my PB 5k is just over 28 minutes at the moment, but that's after loads of practice.
That being said, there will almost certainly be people at the 5k race that are slower than you, so don't put off going if for whatever reason you've not reached that milestone before then.
I hope you post a picture of you with the medal π I wish you all the best for the race, though if you post again I'll probably say hi before then lol.
