Hi everyone... sorry this is a day late again!!!!!!!
Time is flying by and here we are again...
I am getting back on track after a spell on the IC...it is really slow and steady but I am getting there The runs do wait and they do not mind how slow you are
The number of folk on the forum increases daily... and although it is tricky to keep up with everyone's progress... it is great to have a little fun post, so we can see who is on which week of the programme, and hopefully it will help everyone to feel more included on the forum.
We can support, encourage and generally help each other, in a positive and friendly way, with no thought of comparison.
Please remember it doesn't matter if you stay on the same week for a while, that is fine; it is a journey and it really doesn't matter how long it takes, it will be so worth it when you get to the final run.
If you have just Graduated, also, this will be a great place to keep you motivated, and there is always the Quest on the Bridge to 10k forum also, for Graduates., and the new Quest on here too...this month it is called..Spring Fever... and I hope we all catch it
One of the best things about this weekly chat is that you can talk to each other, support and encourage each other and find folk on the same week or run as you.
So, please do come and join the fun...slip off your running shoes and just let us know how it is going

That was a nice update, Oldfloss. I'm off out on my W9R3 today. Will feel a bit strange not doing the program any more, but I'm looking forward to joining the bridge communities. I'd be sad if I had to continue running "on my own". This is such a supportive bunch of people And by the way, love the picture. The sea always makes me happy.
Just done week 5 run 1 and it was hard! I have to admit I am a bit apprehensive about whatโs to come. Will just keep plodding on though! For that last 5 minutes today I am sure I was almost going backwards ๐
Week 6 - just did run 1 this morning. Going well, although the spring has gone out of my step a little bit now that the runs are getting harder! Determined, though.
Hi Oldfloss. I'm taking my time on Week 7, putting extra strengthening, stretch and rest sessions in-between runs after struggling with post-run muscle tightness. Hopefully running W7R2 tomorrow. It's my first run since Tuesday and I am feeling a bit apprehensive, but I've done Pilates and biked 10K in-between, so hopefully I'll be on form. Wish me luck.
Well done you.. you are going to be fine...all that extra work will pay off... just relax... land lightly, let the legs carry you..
I am heading out, also, tomorrow... for my longest run since being on the IC...it will only be about 3K and it will be steady and slow...we will run together... and we will do it:)x
Yes!! I did it!! ๐ Completed W7R2 and I felt comfortable. More than I hoped for, so really pleased. The strengthening exercises, cross training and extra rest days seem to be helping.
Thank you for your encouragement yesterday. Hope your 3K went well?
Whatโs with ABBA?! I do like them, yes, but think Iโve missed something ๐ค. Is it a cryptic clue?
Hi to Oldfloss and anyone else reading this. I've just finished week 8 and can't believe I'm going into my last week ! Although it's been hard work I have really enjoyed this program and the many supportive people on this forum. Week 9 bring it on ! ๐
Hey OldFloss! Started W6 this morning and am focused and on track to complete C25K in June when I turn 40! Come On! ๐๐ So so determined now ๐๐
Iโve just returned from completing W5R3 and am so proud of myself, not only completing my first 20 minutes but for enjoying it too...looking forward to moving to W6 and keeping the mantras I have created through the support of this group going in my head ๐
Hi Oldfloss. Iโm on 2nd week of consolidation. After a weekend of a lot of cleaning and sorting had a slight ache in my arthritic knee. Still wanted/needed to run this morning so ran very slowly. It was fabulous. Ended up carrying on and ran a very slow (50mins) 5k. For one second I thought 50 mins for 5k thatโs awful.... but then...realised, not only had I ran 5k but I had run for 50 mins. I would never have believed that possible 2 months ago ๐
Hello Iโve just finished W3 R3 so feeling very pleased with myself this evening. I live on the coast so the beautiful sunset over the sea was such a treat and enough to spur me on to keep going.
Planning on starting W4 on a Wednesday - slightly apprehensive about 2x 3 minutes and 2x 5 minutes!
The coast...you are so lucky... perfect...I am just back home from the coast... back again in ten days... lovely running...onward and upward with those glorious sunsets as backdrops
Just finished week 8. Week 9 tomorrow! I had an ACL reconstruction a year ago and have never run in my life (used to bunk off cross country in school ๐) son to now be running for 28 mins, albeit slowly, is astounding. The plan is just amazing and really works. Everyone is just so friendly and supportive here as well. I'll be getting my head badge very soon!!
Just done W3r2, changed to a slightly flatter route. Is this cheating? Felt that the steepish bit of previous run was a bit daunting. At 65, I'm really enjoying finding my running mojo!
Huge well done..try thinking, anticipation not apprehension.
Each run is different, each week moves us on... taken slowly and steadily, all are possible and enjoyable. Keep posting and keep running... the support here is incredible.
W5R1 really loving this. At the moment I look forward to my runs, although I am only half way through so I know it's going to get harder. Great to hear how others are doing
