What is Your Week ? March Week 2.

Here we are again... and again for me, another week of training for my HM at the end of the month... Longer runs now for me...and a first 10 mile run in there too!.

This week's photo is one of my favourite running places... and one of my happy places , although this morning it was very wet, and wild and windy!

The numbers of folk on the forum increase daily.. and although it is tricky to keep up with everyone's progress... it is great to have a little fun post, so we can see who is on which week of the programme, and hopefully it will help everyone to feel more included on the forum.

We can support, encourage and generally help each other, in a positive and friendly way, with no thought of comparison.

Please remember it doesn't matter if you stay on the same week for a while, that is fine; it is a journey and it really doesn't matter how long it takes, it will be so worth it when you get to the final run.

If you have just graduated, also, this will be a great place to keep you motivated, and there is always the Quest on the Bridge to 10k forum also, for Graduates., and the new Quest on here too...launched last week !

One of the best things about this weekly chat is that you can talk to each other, support and encourage each other and find folk on the same week or run as you.

So, come and join the fun.... Let us know how it is going :)

I was away with work and spent a total of over 7 hours in the car yesterday. When I landed at the hotel yesterday evening I rushed up to my room and changed into my running gear. I stretched my legs by doing a 5K run in 27:48. Really looking forward to Parkrun tomorrow morning. Going to try for a PB time. Fridays are now known as Parkrun Eve. 😂

3 weeks post graduation and I found I really have more stamina to continue when running. Still doing 30 minutes 3x per week and I still really love running. So for anyone just starting stick with this plan it is absolutely amazing how it works 😊😊😚

All sounding pretty good.. maybe mix the runs up a bit now too... ? :)

Do you mean shorter and longer runs

Oldfloss profile image
OldflossAdministratorGraduate in reply to Buddy34

Yes... maybe a short, slightly speedier run... then a 30 minute or so or a 6/7 K, and then... a run where you just run and see where you get to.. stop when you are tired:)

Maybe look at the C25K + podcasts... challenging but fun... ;) And... the long runs.. the relaxed slow ones... they are the ones to build everything up!

really interesting (furture) ideas there.... I'm still in tunnel vision shuffle-jogging my 3 mins... I start W4 tomorrow....

Since graduating in January I've been running with my wife who started in January. She is now on wk8 and we run at our local parkrun together at her pace. I also do 1 longer midweek run on my own which has been increasing by 0.5k each week. I'm up to 7k so far and I'm aiming to run a 10k. Loving it

Sounds great and super to run together :)

Running W9R3 tomorrow and going to do it at my first parkrun! A little apprehensive given 300 ran it last week!

Don’t worry about numbers. The bigger the crowd the better the atmosphere. What a great way to do your last run of C25K. Enjoy. Parkrun is amazing, I’ll be doing one tomorrow too.

You will be fine,, hang back if you want to, and do it your way... folk string out and you will enjoy. I was terrified when I did my first, (still not my choice of running) but I just waited until the first faster folk had cleared and ran my own run :)

Pr are great, hardest is sticking to your pace and not starting too fast. You’ll naturally run a bit faster than normal. Enjoy!

After graduating 10 days ago and being busy and having a bit of a lull, I think I’ve found my mojo back and will try and run 30’ or some variation. Tried farleks today.

Well, dear OF, I forget which of your posts I am responding to; I hope you don't mind if I respond to multiple ones. This morning I said I hoped to overcome my fears and run again in the p.m., and I'm reporting that I DID! (You don't have to respond; I'm just happy to report this!)

Ran again this morning and hope to again this p.m.... Got myself out with Mr. Dog early. I'm out of "running" shape, but in good "shoveling" shape. :D I need to get back in "running" shape--I'm a little out of breath, but that's okay because the dog stops to sniff 'n' pee....

I use road crossing to catch my breath! :) You are doing so, so well!

Been on the IC with a stiff neck this week brought on I think by too tense running on Monday but hoping it continues to improve. Meanwhile reading all the forum posts are a great inspiration! Good luck with the HM Oldfloss. Got my first one in October. Hope to avoid any more injuries so I can start training properly in a month or two - need to work more on my strength 👍🏻😊
