Canicross Plodding

Took Merlin and my daughter’s beagle for a very gentle, chatty run this morning, and had a lovely time. Several new people, from other groups, were there, along with some people that I haven’t seen since well before I broke my wrist, and I had forgotten some names, but it was all good 😊

I actually face planted in some seriously dried out, churned up mud soon after we set off. Wrist was fine \o/ so that’s reassuring. My glasses might need a trip to the optician’s to straighten them some more, but they didn’t break 😊

Route was pretty much flat, but the dried out lumpy mud had me worried I’d fall again. Very few stopping breaks, but several walk breaks

Just under 7k in just under an hour.

Apart from the bash, a very fine run. Glad the wrist held strong.

So am I!

And now I’ve landed on it, I don’t need to be so worried about doing it again 😊

Well done...great active start to your week-end, apart from face planting the mud.

It was a lovely start to the weekend 🙂

And tomorrow I am taking my eldest grandsprocket to his first ever Junior Parkrun.

It must be said he’s only 4, and neither of his parents drive, so he walks everywhere. If you can get him to slow down that is 🙂

There’s talk of Lyme Park... the first km is almost vertical! I can’t walk up that and talk! If I run up it I may wake up to some chatty nurses I guess 😂

I did one of the steeper ones in Nottingham when we were visiting husband’s relatives. The lady next to me was walking up one of the hills faster than I was running. 😉

I’m not against walking uphills, but I did want to say that I’d ‘run’ round that particular one.

I think it was runners world podcast where the discussed a race in snowdonia... apparently there’s one bit where even the elites walk because it’s faster, everyone who runs it gets walked past!
