Whoopee doo - first proper running shoes!!

When I started this c25k malarkey I promised myself a proper pair of running shoes if I got to the end of W4.

Well I have, and these shiny new running shoes are my treat to me! Did the whole gait analysis as I use orthotics in my shoes - another new experience for me as I haven’t run on a treadmill before.

Looking forward to W5 now 😃!

I treated myself too as I have arthritis in my knees! Worth every penny. I can now bimble along with hardly any discomfort in my knees! Enjoy

Yes, definitely need to be careful! Well, I've just tested my trainers out on W5R1 and they felt different, but good different!

Just tried the new shoes out on W5R1 and they felt good! I could definitely tell I was running in different shoes, but it felt good different 😀.

Oooh nothing better than new shoes ! Look lovely but wouldn’t want to get them dirty....I may have to treat myself to a new pair soon. Where did you go to get gait analysis ? 👟

in reply to RunRunRun13

I've got my new trainers dirty!! I did W5R1 and they felt good. I went to Run Company in Chichester for gait analysis - I can now admit to having my first run on a treadmill! They were very helpful.

Very nice. I’m not sure about anyone else, but looking at trainers and thinking ‘oh how pretty they are’ is a whole new emotional experience for me!

Well done on getting this far. 👏

Me too!! I’m even buying “sporty” trainers for everyday wear...It was only ever Converse for me. I’ve changed 😂

I know! Having started C25K I now say things that my husband can't believe, like "Oh, that looks like a nice route for a run...".

Yay love a bit of shoe porn 😉

Hopefully they will make the running a more pleasant experience. Many under estimate the importance of good footwear. And who doesn't love a bit of shopping 😁 just be careful as this running malarky is addictive and then you need to buy new things - tights, shorts, coats, hats, socks, belts, water bottles.... the list is long but all items will become essential and totally justifiable in your mind 🤣🤣🤣

Have fun with the new shoes x

Yes, I can see a totally justifiable seasonal running wardrobe developing as the weeks go on....🤣

Oooh they are a bit fabulous, aren't they!? I'm a bit envious of that lovely day-glo orange... but as I'm now up to 4 pairs, I don't think I'd get away with another just yet!!
