Which running shoes do you use? I’m currently using my nike flex runner trainers but I’d like to buy some new ones. The ones that I currently use are about 3-4 years old and I’ve had a lot of wear out of them but they won’t last me much longer. I don’t want to spend too much on new ones but I’d like some recommendations from you to see what’s out there. Tried running in my air 270’s but I don’t like the bubble at the bottom which makes me feel like I’m about to twist my ankle!
Help a newbie please ☺️

Hi LittleOne...a really decent running shop, staffed by enthusiasts, will not only give you best advice but will also do a free gait analysis on a treadmill - which is fun. That way you'll get the most appropriate shoes for you and your budget. I decided this was one piece of gear I was going to buy well....so I went for Brooks Glycerin (£160) just before I started C25K. It's like jogging on clouds yet really supportive. Apparently there's a tradition of posting a pic of new running shoes!!!
Once you've had your gait analysis and know the type of shoes will suit you, you can probably buy cheaper online, often last year's styles are reduced.
Go to a running shop and have your gait analysed. I have over pronation and I use ASICS and they are amazing. Prior to buying them I had calf pain during and after every run and had resorted to wearing calf sleeves. Since using the ASICS I have not had any calf pain.
We all have our different favourites that suit us and our feet... my road runners and my trail shoes are all Adidas.. all bought in sales and all so comfy... never a blister or a black nail!
I did not do a shop test.. i did the wet foot test and then researched madly... it has worked for me for over 8 years
Oldfloss tell us more ... is it like hand prints for feet and then you can analyse the shape to choose the shoes? (Sorry about the italics - no idea how that happened!).
I treated myself to ASICS gel ones too,( £150 ish)they are light but sturdy around the ankle. Make sure you try some on 1st I wouldn’t recommend buying online until you know what brand your want. I’m a 5 but ASICS I’m a 7 so be mindful that different brands have different sizing. They are really comfy, no chafes/blisters/ sore toes. Mine have higher arch support as I’ve had plantar fasciitis in the past these seem to help that too so defo get a gait analysis if you can x
i love my Asics, i have several pairs that i now rotate for the different runs I do, i didn't get a gait analysis done (but you go with the rest of the guidance on here) but i find Asics (although i get a half size up) do me just well so i am sticking with this brand. I bought some new ones last week that i did pay full price for as i was worried they would go out of stock, and i just had to have them, but they look stunning and i can't wait to try them out.
