Just started week 5 but I find myself looking how long I have left to run. Any tips because an 8 minute run will drive me mad

If you have an iPod, create a playlist with 2x4min songs, 1x3 minute and another 2x4min. Start it playing at the end of the warm up walk, then concentrate on the songs, not the time.

Worked OK for me, and I'm now using playlists of 5min songs for the longer runs.

Welcome to the forums.

Great job getting to week 5... it’s the best week. Keep that pace down, especially early in the intervals. Your legs are ready... your lungs and heart are ready... you can do this... relax and believe. Have a wonderful run... and don’t look at the clock... look at your surroundings... take it all in... take your mind off the running.

I didn't know about this information. Very informative and I will give Laura's podcast a go tomorrow, thanks

I like the C25K podcast. Laura gives tips and encouragement and there’s music too. Not always what I’d choose to listen too but it works for me

If you are running on a treadmill - put a post-it note over the time. When I’m on the cross trainer I put the TV remote upright to hide the screen. A better plan would be to run outside, though.

If you are running outside, zip your phone into a pocket and then secure the pocket with a safety pin. And if you are looking at your watch, take it off and leave it at home.

Not what you're looking for?
