I’m due to do w5r3 tomorrow and I’m really apprehensive....20 mins running non stop- eeeeeeeeekkkkkk! Did anyone else feel like this, and how did you get through it? 2x8 minutes was ok but this is a huge jump!

Yes indeed Lorna, we all have nerves before run 3 of week 5.

I only slept for 3 hours the night before I was due to run it, however, like everyone else, once I completed the run I was so very pleased with myself like you will be one you have ran it. Just take the run particularly slow and steady, you can do it, you will do it, good luck. 👍 🏃

It is not a huge jump at all and here is why healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

Relax and enjoy it.

I did it today & I honestly think it’s a ‘Mind over Matter’ run. Once I got past 10 minutes it was actually okay. Good luck

Hi, I understand how you feel as just a few hours ago I felt exactly the same and now I can say ‘I did it!’. You have been building up stamina over the past weeks and you will surprise yourself at just how fit you have become. I started the run at a snails pace and just kept going, I was pleasantly surprised at how quick the time went. You can do this, it’s all about believing in yourself and staying positive. Good luck!

Trust in the programme it's been building you up to this run. In the first ten minutes you might think i can't do this but ignore those thoughts, it's hard in that period while your body is realising that you are exercising and adjusting your internal systems. It'll get easier and if not, slow down.

While you are running focus on how far you have come and before you know it the run will be over and you can give yourself a massive pat on the back for completing this milestone run.

Enjoy.

I think it thought it was a huge jump too. I went back to the beginning!

I remembered that was what I did last time I tried this too.

This time I am going to go for it. Good luck.

One foot in front of the other. Don't run too fast, it may seem super slow but the aim is to smash 20 minutes not speed. I had to have a second shot at the 20minutes because I went too fast. Enjoy the moment and relax.

Good tips from all which I hope to take since I'm doing mine tomorrow. My problem is running too fast and not being able to talk (to myself loudly). Slow and steady is the message I'm hearing

I had a problem leading up to this run so I kept repeating w5r2 for about a week and a half then I turned to this forum and asked for advice. Many responders all basically told me the same thing. This is not a race so approach w5r3 as slowly as you like. Slow is the answer. I attempted w5r3 the next day, set off very slowly and finished it with ease. So the solution to your dilemma is slow as you like. Good luck.

I felt exactly the same! Slow and steady is the way to go 👍

You'll feel such a sense of achievement after, good luck 😊

I said exactly the same just over a week ago. And I done it. Can’t believe how far I’ve come. Yesterday I ran for 25 mins. It’s such a buzz knowing you can do it.

Everyone feels like that, but you will surprise yourself, you actually run for longer with the 8,5, 8 , so you can do it just don’t try to go too fast nice gentle jog. You will feel really good after . Good luck.

Thank you all! Getting ready to go now....10 year old daughter has decided she’s coming too - last time she came was in week 3, I think she’s worrying about the 20 minutes more than me now! 😂 Off we go! 🏃‍♀️ 🤞

Yes it does seem a huge leap but totally manageable. I felt on top of the world that a could run for 20 minutes. You can do it!!!!

I felt exactly the same but you can do it. It was definitely a battle in my mind rather than my legs. I was so apprehensive that I was almost hypa-ventalating! Just remember to breath and go really slow, then slower again. You’ll be so amazed at yourself when you achieve it. Enjoy your moment of glory 😊🏃‍♀️😊

Good luck. I did it last night. It’s not easy but you’ve worked so hard to get this far your feet just take you. It’s amazing. Then I can’t explain how proud you will feel !! x

So daughter decided not to bother after all!

It was all going so well until my Bluetooth earphones ran out of battery after about 13 minutes....I restarted my music and just kept going with music out loud (I live in the country & didnt see a soul while I was out so I wasn’t annoying anyone). After a song and a bit I wondered why Laura had stopped talking to me- she had been paused when the earphones cut out!!!

So I ended up totally out of sync with the app and I know I ran about 22 mins but I don’t feel the sense of satisfaction I though I would!! I’m wondering if I should redo this run before doing w6R1 🤔

You will be fine Lorna...just make sure your hydrated, go at a slow pace and positive thoughts before you start “You can do this...and will”

I too worried about this but the plan works and I felt better running constantly rather than the intervals of walking.

Good luck 🏃‍♀️
