Hi, I’m just about to head into week 7. I probably shouldn’t be thinking ahead but I’m already wondering how on Earth I’m going to be running 5k in 30 minutes. I’m confident I can run the 30, despite the 25 being the hardest yet. However, I am really really slow. I could probably walk faster than I’m running right now. I’m hoping that the consistency of the run lengths this week will just naturally make me speed up a little.
Any tips?

Don't worry socklady, the real target is 30 minutes. Only 10% of graduates can do 5k apparently. Takes me about 36 minutes to do 5k. Speed increases very slowly after graduation as you continue to build stamina and strength. Your doing great!
I think the name of the course implies that you'll be running 5k after 9 weeks. In fact you'll be running for 30 minutes. After that you need to keep going to get stronger and faster so the 5K comes in the end!
Thanks for all your responses. It’s so reassuring to know that everything I’m doing sounds good and normal. I think I was getting too hung up on the 5k aspect rather than the fact I’d be running for 30 mins!
