I did w7r1 today - really wasn’t fancying it and my motivation has been rubbish recently with 2 rest days becoming common. I do find running after work that my calves struggle - sitting at a desk all day.
So weekend - no excuses, calves relaxed and loose - and it was fine, if a bit warm. I’m doing treadmill this time - not really sure why, started in dark nights, and lacking confidence to go outside again - there seem sooo many people running just now!
So it’s taking me forever to get to graduating but I can almost see the home straight.

Well done Crittermad the finishing line is nearly in sight!🙂 I much prefer to run first thing in the morning because it’s easier on my legs. In these times of lockdown I haven’t got to commute as I can work from home, so it’s much better!
I’m sure you’re right about the number of runners out there - let’s hope they’re all doing C25K and following the program😊
Take care, stay safe 🌈 and hopefully you’ll graduate very soon!🙂🤞
I'm not surprised you lack motivation, running on a treadmill is sooo boring. Put the treadmill in a cupboard to pull out when it's icy. Get outdoors, smell the flowers, hear the birds, feel the wind in your face. The joy of running for me is as much about being out in the countryside as anything else. Good luck
Last time I did C25K I did it outside - 2 years ago - then started back after a 3 month gap. I guess I’m scared that I’ll try outside and find I can actually only run for 10 mins! It’s running around streets for me here, but there is a small park not too far away. Still not allowed to travel to exercise here.
I always took two rest days, quite deliberately. At least you're still running, that's the important thing.
I agree with helenwheels - give the outdoors a try. I know times are difficult, but the benefits of running outdoors in the open air are immense to both body and soul. 🌺🌞
You're so close to the finish - whether it be dreadmill or outdoors - just keep running!!! I only run outdoors and I've worked out a route that keeps me away from other runners and pedestrians. Mainly if I keep away from paths and just run on the grass in the park its fine. It was a bit strange at first - bit bumpy under foot in places, but it only took a couple of runs to get used to it after running on paved paths. But I suppose it might be busier where you are and more difficult to get away from people? Good luck!!
I will! Thank you - I need plan some new routes that match the approx distance I am doing - I haven’t tried the local park since lockdown - but there are lots of folk on the roads!
