I have got to the end of Week 9 & am really pleased! But I run pretty slowly and only just manage 3K. Has anyone else had this? How much longer might it take to get to 5K in around 30 mins or so?
Looking back over my running ‘stats’ I think I’ve been running at pretty much the same speed all along and have never really got any faster. I know if I ran for longer I’d get to 5K of course but I get a bit bored after 30 mins or so I’d like to try a park run at some point, but don’t really want it to take 50 minutes! Thanks.

Hundred's and hundreds and hundreds of folk Loads of our most awesome runners, ( not that we are not ALL awesome), have never done 5K in 30 minutes.... and they run marathons, triathlons, etc etc.You have done brilliantly and congratulations...!
Well done! It’s the enjoyment of running that’s important in my opinion not the timed distance. Lots of people do Park Run in 50 minutes and you’ll never be last (speaking from experience), there’s always a tail walker who crosses ‘the line’ last. Happy running.
I graduated in June and still haven't done 5k in 30 mins. I run at the same speed as you, and I'm doing my first parkrun tomorrow, fully expecting it to take 50 mins and for me to walk some of it. Do I care? Not a jot! 🏃♀️
If you find running boring, try listening to funny/interesting podcasts, NRC podcasts, c25k+ podcasts, run different routes - the variety is endless! I love Audiofuel runs on Spotify!
