Hi everyone! I’ve been a bit of a forum stalker reading all the advice and tips which have been very inspirational. Today was my last run of week 6 which I had been dreading as run 1 and 2 of week 6 were so hard..... however I treated myself to some brand new running shoes following my gait analysis today which showed I had collapsing arches ! Eek. Well they stayed bright and shiny for a tiny bit 😂. Bright being the word 😂. Apparently I ran through a thunderstorm too but my noise cancelling earphones and joss stone blocked out everything but the rain and I ran through the park! I have discovered I LOVE running in the rain.... although don’t hold me to that come winter 🤣

Well done, that’s it now! You are officially a runner 😀
I also agree running in the rain is lovely but like you I haven’t done it in winter when it’s cold and dark 😂
Very snazzy trainers. Looks the part. They’ll do you nicely over these longer runs.
Heard the thunder and caught a rainbow 🌈 in the distance but went around us.
Stay positive, you seem to have this challenge in the bag. 👏👏
Welcome to the forum and well done on your progress.
This guide to the plan is essential reading but it sounds like you might have read it already healthunlocked.com/couchto5...
and includes advice on minimising impact, stretching after every run, hydration and strengthening exercises, all of which will help.
Enjoy your journey.
Welcome and well done on your progress so far.
