Got up to week 7 run 1 and knees went, had a gait analysis and got proper running shoes but nearly a week later knees still hurt, it’s wearing off a little but still hurts, have been using biofreeze which does help

Any advice welcome

Are you pain free when not running? Do you have a knee support? I ran a couple of weeks in knee braces on the plan, but that does reduce muscle development a little so it’s not a long term solution. Are you doing any strengthening exercises? Have a look in the pinned posts, the relevant strength and flex exercises worked wonders for me, I’m have pain free knees after 30 years of hurt.

No it still hurts

I haven’t been able to run, it hurts when I’m walking or get up, not really wanting to start again till knees better as don’t want any long term damage as I have in arms from tennis elbow from doing body pump classes

Not tried strengthening exercises

Where do I find them

If it’s not easing any a physio may be the best option.

Ibuprofen 👌🏽 Totally normal for knees to go through a pain period! It’ll go soon.

My knees went at week 2 run 1. They were unbelievably painful. I stopped running, and after 1 week I started some gentle walking. Just back to the running know after 15 days off. No problems atm. Just give it as much time as you need and take ibuprofen if needed. Xxxx
