I got up to week 7 run 2 and it was going really well, then I injured what I thought was my knee, 3 weeks later after seeing physio I have been told that it’s not my knee but muscles in my thigh and bottom which have tensed up, which is something that happens to runners, I have proper running shoes after a gait analysis but still am in pain and unable to run
Has anyone else had this problem? If so how long did it take to go, as at this rate will need to start the whole program again.

I don’t have any advice I’m afraid but wanted to sympathise and wish you well. I wonder if having a sports massage would help? Might relax the muscles.
It’s so frustrating when something like that happens, but if you keep resting it will hopefully right itself soon.
My Dad was suffering from knee pain a little while ago, and his physio said he needed to do thigh exercises as his muscles on one side were weaker than the other. We all scoffed and couldn’t understand why she was saying he had to do thigh exercises for knee pain, but it did work for him.
Has your physio given any indication of how long it’ll take to get better?
Initially a week but three weeks later I still have pain they gave me exercises to do and said try Pilates but it’s so boring, I just want to get back to where I was, I was really getting into it, now can’t run
