I’m wondering if this is a thing. I have only just started this week - done 2 runs and on returning home, after showering, dressing etc I start to feel quite cold. Seems to go on for rest of the day. Don t know if this is normal or just me?
Seem to be cold an hour after a run: I’m... - Couch to 5K
Seem to be cold an hour after a run
Can’t answer why that is but I do too....did this morning after my run. Im 49 but do have cold hands/feet and blame hormones and middle age ! 😂
Thanks! least it’s not just me - I’m usually quite warm so it’s quite refreshing actually 😊
You are not alone - me too! I want to reach for my socks, slippers and wooly jumper!
My husband and son remarked on it the other day when they got home and I had the heating on!
Night time is another matter however, I'm constantly throwing the duvet off! 🥵
Ditto, takes me all day to warm up after a run, also blaming hormones and middle age 😬
I don’t suffer from this, but my running partner says she gets this too not sure why though
Me too! I suspect the body temp has dropped as its cooled down after the run. You will probably feel it more if you are sat idle and not moving. It’s always nice to grab a warm hoody and socks so it’s quite comforting to warm up. Probably a woman thing judging by the replies. 😊
If is a known issue for some runners and I have seen it suggested that it is caused by low blood sugar. If you Google "cold after running" you will find discussions. If you do find an answer I would love to know.
Found this ! You may need a cuppa before reading as it’s a long one
I find I get cold after doing a Couch to 5k session too. I guess it is your body cooling itself down after getting hot. In my case, quite pink in the face!ha A warm bath/shower should help. Probably low blood sugar would make you feel cold too, as your body needs fuel.
Yes i have a warm after the morning run but it goes on until the evening. I’ve googled it and there seems to be no definite reason. Some say it’s the body’s thermostat, others say blood sugar levels or adrenaline. Hopefully it might ease the more weeks I get through.
yes,i run in the morning and am chilly in the afternoon.
but the best bit is hot flushes have disappeared.
Finding this too, particularly with longer runs. Like others thought it was just me!
Yeah i sometimes get this
