Headed to the hotel gym tonight . I'd rather not do the dreadmill but it was raining π
No eye candy today, which was a shame as I had psyched myself up. There was however a chap using the free weights. Now I will defer to anyone out there with better knowledge of these things and I am mindful of not being judgemental but.... are you supposed to huff and puff like a bad Ivor the Engine impression? (kids ask your parents) There was much grimacing as well. I did wonder if he was lifting too much? His equivalent of us running too fast π€·ββοΈ
So having stumbled through the mensa test I got the treadmill under way. After some more random key pressing the screen changed to trail runs in California. Very pretty and a good distraction whilst running. Only next time I need to take my up close glasses because it made me feel a bit iffy watching in my normal distance ones π€£
This was definitely a mind over matter run. Not sure if it was the 20 mins or being indoors. In a way it was good to have the pace set as even when I found it tough I knew this was the average speed I normally achieve so it wasn't my body complaining. I slightly impressed myself as I actually broke a sweat! Towards the end I was feeling ok and probably could have gone further. It's all about persuading your brain that this is a good rhythm. I'm hoping mine will learn to cotton on more quickly π
All in all a good session, completely ruined by the dark chocolate tart with toffee ice cream I am wolfing down!!!! π
Good luck to my fellow week 5ers You've got this π
Happy running folks xxx

You have to have a treat now and again. I am yet to start my week 8 after an awful weekend with migraine, nausea, loss of appetite (bonus in one way, but not great when a 25 min run is looming)
Also my first experience of night sweats....very unpleasant!
Either I have a very nasty bug or it is the big 'M'
If it is the big 'M' though, I will just have to get on with it.
Felt very guilty missing my run and I'm now behind my 2 running buddies.
I am contemplating attempting w8r1 on my dreadmill...that way I will stop with the guilt but also be at home if I need to stop.
Well done on your run...definately won't be any gurning weight lifters in my barn....or shouldn't be anyway! Think I may have struggled to keep a straight face!
oh my word you're falling apart! I'm not sure which would be better a bug or M? Either way i hope you feel better soon. Treadmill is a wise idea for your first run back whichever week you decide to do lol x
Think I would prefer a bug...at least changing the sheets and nightwear daily will come to an end.
Just done my run...week 7...but actually ended up running week 8 because I threw my tissue over the timer and ran to the end of a song...so confused myself again.
I won't pretend the run was easy...settled after 10, but running to ease your guilt is not very enjoyable...it was all about the tick today...but Thursday I'm back outside and WILL enjoy it.
Unfortunately I don't have any chocolate tart or ice cream and the nearest shop is 10 miles away!
Enjoy your next run...better luck for eye candy...none of that here either...average age is 80!
I definitely find treadmill runs are mind over matter so congrats on getting it done. Running through California trails would help with the boredom as does watching Mr. HuffnPuff.
