Started the C25K it’s the end of October. Just loved it until the weather turned nasty late November haven’t run since, then all the Christmas festivities got in the way Any suggestions how to carry on when the weather turns bad. Running in the rain would be ok it’s the icy ground that stopped me.

Be careful in icy conditions! Have you thought about using a treadmill if you have a gym near you, it is frustrating when weather isn’t good! 😊

One long run at the weekend, couple of shorter runs during the week?

Maybe the treadmill in an emergency

Set yourself some goals

Enter a race or join a club

Don’t dither just do!

Ice stops me too. That’s why I got the dreadmill. Hate it, but it’s saved me from running round my house again. Any port in a storm - or, in my case, a blizzard since we’ve been snowed in twice so far this winter. I would have gone to the gym, only three minutes walk away but every one of those minutes up a steep hill with the worst ice in the town. It was £160 with shipping. Sounds a lot, but it soons pays for itself if you consider the cost of a gym seasion.

I do very quiet residential roads (facing the on coming traffic) that have been successfully salted. The only disadvantage is having to hop onto the pavement for occasional cars. I found a small area of streets which are not a through road, so traffic is very light & there is a long clear view of the few cars that go by. For safety I only do this with one earphone in and stay on high alert for cars. I also go at quiet times of the day. 😃

Thanks for your support. Treadmill might be the way as I live in the country where roads aren’t always gritted.
