Have been meaning to get to my first Parkrun for weeks and today was the day when I had it all planned. No kids to taxi any where, kit all laid out and ready to go! However, after much excitement last night over my impending first run, I had one of those nights where I just kept waking..so when the alarm went off bright and early...well, I just didn't and decided I could not be bothered to get up! Simple as that and now I feel very lazy and disappointed with myself! I hope I am not the only one prone to such lethargy on occasion. I like to think I am usually quite well motivated, especially where my running is concerned.
On a more positive note, I am doing 3x5ks plus a week and hopefully by next weekend I will have some new trail shoesπ and a bit more get up and go!
Happy running, and hope all you Parkrunners had a good run!π³

I think it is actually ok to be 'lazy' sometimes. Maybe today your body needed the sleep rather than the exercise. In the grander scheme of things you are running regularly so that is what counts. A good rest is might be what you need, there are plenty of other running days.π
I haven't actually done a park run yet simply because I like my lie in on a Saturday morning too much. βΊοΈ I work full time, am up early, work most evenings so am usually in need of extra sleep βΊοΈ
Oh don't beat yourself up Sandra. I find it hard to get up early on horrible winter days to do anything. Parkrun will always be there when you are ready.
Enjoy that lie-in, have breakfast, let it digest while you catch up with telly/papers/forum and then go. Come back to hot drink, bubbly bath and bask in the afterglow.
