Definitely harder than a treadmill. The Freezing wind and hail beat me I failed lol. I have so much admiration for all you outside runners 👏💪
My first outside run: Definitely harder than a... - Couch to 5K
My first outside run

Welcome to the great (if wet and cold) outdoors. You didn’t fail... it would have been easy to fail on you first outdoor run, you could have stepped outside, seen the weather, gone back in, made a brew, put your feet up, and watched TV instead. You didn’t do any of that, you ran. Transitioning was never going to make this an easy run... your pacing looks reasonably good on your splits, maybe starting slightly slower would improve the evenness of the pace, but hey, it’s your first run having to do that! You say fail... I say great running. I’m right too 🤪

Do not retreat indoors!

You went out and you ran that's no fail, running outside gets better the more you do it good luck 😊😊

How is that a fail? You ran for over half an hour!
Running outside is different to the treadmill - I have great admiration for treadmill users, you obviously have greater stamina and determination than me as I think the monotony would have me giving up after 5 minutes!
So well done you!

Keep going out there. I transitioned from treadmill and yes it was tough at first, but it doesn't last long, just until you get used to pacing for yourself instead of the treadmill doing it for you. There is so much more to distract you outside, as well as fresh air, vitamin D etc. My treadmill is redundant now gathering dust in the barn.
