I’m feeling a sense of achievement after completing week 4, I haven’t ran since I left school so it’s been a while...
I’ve surprised myself how much I have enjoyed it and how much more motivation I seem to have. I am currently running on a treadmill at home so my pace is very much regulated, I feel like I want to build more stamina before I venture outside though 🤷🏼♀️
Week 5 runs aren’t a much greater time than what has already been completed, they’re just in a bigger chunk, I am looking looking for some distraction ideas to stop thinking about how long I have left to run, or can anyone recommend a podcast or similar for distraction and/or motivation?

Good music ! Or get outdoors as its a different experience. Did first few weeks inside but so glad i went out. ( Apart from today when the hoffic coast wind beat me 😩😩)
Any tips for starting to run outside? As I’ve only ran (jogged not very fast!) on the treadmill I’m a little daunted at finding my stride and wearing myself out too early.
I might set a goal of reaching end of week 5 and trying a small outdoor run
I just started slow and what felt right. My treadmill pace was faster but when I was going out you have inclines, wind, etc. Go slow and 100% get good music that motivate you and inspires. Can’t beat a bit of Born to run by Bruce Springsteen. Helped me tho many a run 🏃🏻♀️ honestly your body guides you.
I will bear that in mind and get a decent playlist together 😊 hopefully I can give you a positive update in a week or so when week 5 is in the bag, I’m determined to do this
IannodaTruffe thank you, that was exactly what I needed to read. I think I will reread your post a few times as there is so much to take in, very informative and it does answer a few thoughts I’ve had on my last run. I was thinking my trainers weren’t too comfortable and I should maybe get a new pair.
I will certainly check out the links, it’s always a good idea to be prepared and I think you’ve done a great job with your advice. Thank you 🙌🏼😊
