Finally completed week 3! Found the third run the hardest...
Not looking forward to week 4 at all :/
Think I need to invest in some proper running shoes now.. my left foot hurts way too much to carry on past 3 minutes .. will give week 4 a go and if unable - new shoes seems like the way forward!

Did w4r1 today. Wasn't as bad as expected. Just ran nice and slow. Regarding trainers- if you feel your trainers are past their best, go to a running shop and get some advice on some trainers best for you (and in your budget).
Well done! Definitely worth going to a running shop, having a gait analysis and investing in some proper trainers before you do yourself some damage. I was doing ok in my old trainers but compared to the cushioning in the new ones I might as well have been running in flip flops. If you’ve got the bug (and it sounds like you have) it’s time to get some gear! Good luck!
Just tried to do the first run, but struggled and had to stop half way through the second 3 minutes run
Going for a gait analysis this week and hopefully get new shoes - I think this is what’s holding me back.. I think I have the stamina to go on, but my foot and shin hurts way too much
We had gait analysis done at week three. Bought trainers and insoles. OK, not cheap but I am 67 so needed to limit the likelihood of injury. I would not have believed the difference they made! Gone are the knee pains and no after run ankle problems. My good lady has rid herself of shin splints. All because we got the propers kit. We use Sweatshop. They were really knowledgeable and will happily try to keep to budget.
