Finished my first week. Much to my surprise I'm not flat out on a hospital bed. Have lost 2lbs which is a good start. I've watched the slow jog video an think this is definitely my style. I was running in trainers but think I'm going to invest in some running shoes. Can anyone recommend some please

Hi Annion, Head off to a decent running shop if you can where they can asses your style and offer a range of styles and sizes - mine are a size larger than my normal shoe size. Mine are Brooke’s but they’ve recently changed their range so don’t sell that particular one any more. But be prepared to gulp when you get the bill! But if your feet are happy, you’ll be happy!

Gulping already I didn't think they would be cheap. Thanks

If you're new to running it's worth going to a decent running shop. They'll look to see how you land. Then they'll look at your arch; do you have a high arch, normal or flat? If you're not certain, wet your feet and stand on some paper. Once you know your foot type, you'll know which shoes are right for you. I'm a neutral runner, I go for Nike Pegasus, Asics Nimbus, or Saucony Triumph... loads of cushioning.

Flat footed. Very low arch. I guess I'm off shopping next weekend. Thank you

Well done.

Have you read the guide to the plan? healthunlocked.com/couchto5... it includes a link to a post about buying running shoes, which may be helpful.

Recommendations from others are pretty meaningless........unless they have an identical body to you.
