Week 5, run 2 done. While running the 8 minutes all I could think about was the 20 minutes of Run 3. There is this niggling voice in my head that just chants “your never going to make it”. I just need to find a way to make it shut up. Onward.
I think I can do it, but my inner voice is ann... - Couch to 5K
I think I can do it, but my inner voice is annoyingly pessimistic.
Congratulations to you Charliemom on getting this far with C25K, no, don't worry about run 3 of week 5, many people dred that run but once they complete it they are very proud of themselves, just take the run slowly as you have taken all the running parts up to now, you are going to make it, you WILL make it, good luck.
You’re not alone... I think everybody’s inner voice was screaming that we couldn’t do it as that run loomed on the horizon! I’ve been know to tell it to <insert expletive for go away> out loud on several occasions! That doubting voice likes the easy life... it can’t succeed because it won’t try... it lies. You’re stronger than that voice... you can do it! Slow and steady, especially for the first 10 minutes, and you’ll start to feel better in the second half of the run. Enjoy.
You will do it. I was just the same and now on 30minute runs, just take it slow and steady and you will get there.
You can do it don't worry all your runs up to now have prepared you for it 😊
You can do it!!!!
This might help healthunlocked.com/couchto5...
Honestly, you can.
It’s honestly not that bad. Deliberately set off slowly and keep it steady. I believe this one is about believing you can do it and the best way is not to beast yourself but to snail it out.
Set yourself up for success. Use a route you enjoy (flat or downhill is good for this one!) Get your favourite podcast, playlist or whatever you use.
Make sure you stay hydrated.
Accept that the gremlins are likely to make an appearance then use UNM method by telling them to go away 😈🔨
You can totally do this, you are ready, the program has made your body ready.
Believe in you! 💪💪🏃♀️
I felt exactly as you describe but I did it, slowly! For me going slow and choosing nice flat places to run in the early weeks was vital. Graduated three weeks ago and still can't quite believe that I can now run for 30 minutes (slowly !). You can do it!
