3rd week couch to 5k

Hi all. Just got to the end of week 3 and don't feel ready enough due to staminer issues to start week 4. Anyone else get the same problem? Was thinking of re-doing that week.

Did you fully complete every run of wk3 if you did just move on you can do it 😊

We'd encourage you to move onto the next week if you successfully completed W3. However, this is your health and fitness, and you are in complete control. So if you want (or feel the need) to repeat a week, then that is perfectly OK. But you can already run for 3 minutes, and so week 4 is not so much harder (runs of 3/5/3/5 from memory).

Why not have an extra rest-day, and then give W4r1 a try. The weather is warmer, spring feels like it is on the way, the sun will be shining and you can be outside attempting W4r1. Running is great :-)

Welcome to the forum and well done on getting started.

This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5... and explains the recommended easy conversational pace, which if you apply, will make it all so much easier.

Follow the link to the post about mental approach, it may put things in perspective for you.

You are in control, so do as you need to, but the run you need to conquer is the next one, not the way one.

Enjoy your journey.

Self doubt is strong in all of us when we start. The plan has you ready for the next run. It’s your call, but I’d rather not quite complete the next run than repeat one I know I can do. Whatever you decide, have a great run.

Hi Gazza! I felt exactly the same at the end of W3 and was coming up with lots of reasons for repeating it. In the end I decided the only way I could tell if I was ready for W4 was to try it and see! And of course it was doable! Good luck!
