Last year I was 3.5 stone heavier and unfit due to being diagnosed with fibromyalgia previously. I kept passing out when exercising, hence I lost confidence.
I began slowly losing weight last year as I had planned the trip of a lifetime and wanted to be fit for it. Still struggled to exercise but managed to lose 2 stone by the holiday.
In January I started training to do a 5K on an the 7th March I completed my first proper run for international women’s day. I’m so proud of myself - ran all the way, battling with the demons in my head.
I have fibromyalgia, that’s not going to go away - I live with pain and stiffness everyday. Running is awesome, I choose the pace and the distance and I can go when and where I want.
I’ve now signed up to a 10k and two more 5k runs. It hasn’t been easier but it’s been doable and I’m doing it.
