This Runner 5 has now graduated!

Yesterday, my new leggings arrived, ready for today. And I just completed my last Couch to 5K run, the zombie version. It was a 40 minute run, a bit longer than the previous run earlier this week.

And luckily the program doesn’t expect one to get to 5k, but rather completed it by running for 40 minutes. The sun was shining, the wind was blowing, my new colourful half-length leggings felt cool, and the nettles and thistles were kept in check by my husband nifty work yesterday with a pair of shears. I am ever so thankful for his shear-ful walks.

So here I am, again, having finished another C25k journey.

What’s next? I think I’ll be doing some Nike audio-guided runs. There is an 8-week 5K plan, which is just about getting a faster 5K. And there is also a 4-week beginner plan, so I’m thinking of mixing both up a bit for the consolidation period.

Together they’ll have plenty of recovery runs and slow runs, but also some fartlek runs, interval training, and speed run. So it sounds like a lot of fun, and as long as I take it slow, it should be perfect for consolidation.

So happy running, everyone!

Well done Runner 5! 👏👏👏I was eyeing up that NRC 5k plan as part of my building up to regular running. Not to do the whole thing but just to provide some structure for the next few weeks. I did the beginners plan when I re-started after my last injury and I really enjoyed it 👍

Yeah, I need a bit of structure and a plan. I’m just annoyed that their 10k plan is only available as a PDF (with reference to audio guided runs) but not in the app itself. I really want to get to 10k again, but with that plan!

I might just attempt to redo a pdf version putting in clickable links.

I went old style and printed the 10k plan so I could tick off the runs as I did them. I quite enjoyed doing that!

I might revert to that solution as well! 🤣👏👍🏽

Woohoo! Congratulations 🏃‍♀️🧟🏅And very natty leggings too. Full marks to Mr CBDB, I think if I asked Mr Grumpy to go out and shear the nettles before I ran, I'd get this response 🧐🤔

Well done . Great your run 5km and 40 mins. 👏👏

Well it wasn’t 5k, rather more like 4 and a bit. But that’s ok, as it conforms to the 5% rule. I’ll get there soon enough! Thank you!

Well done 👏🏻 👏🏻👏🏻🧟‍♂️👏🏻👏🏻🧟‍♀️👏🏻👏🏻I love a bit a Runner 5 myself but have you every actually outrun the Zombies? I always drop something and distract them . Is it possible to outrun them I wonder 🤔

Well, having gone back to being a trainee runner 5, my trainers kept my contact with Zombies at a very controllable level. 🤣 (meaning: in the 5k version you don’t have the option of turning random zombie chases on or off)

But yes, when running in the ‘real Zombie World’, I more often than not dropped things to distract Zombies following me.

🤣🤣🤣

Congratulations! Absolutely loving those leggings. They’ll definitely keep the zombies away!
