Really proud of myself today, I have never been a runner but I am now. My last 3 runs in week 9 were amazing and I enjoyed every step. I have done most of my running on the treadmill due to dark nights and cold rainy mornings but I have booked my first 5k race the 4th May so my consolidation runs need to be outside. Any tips or advice on the move from treadmill to the great outdoors?

Many congratulations on your graduation fellow runner.

Be prepared for it to take several runs to become comfortable with outdoors running........avoid hills to start with.
Keep running, keep smiling.
Congratulations on completing c25k you must be so pleased. When running outside be mindful of your pace so you don't go too fast as when running on the treadmill your pace is set , it may take a few runs to get used to it . 😊😊👏👏👏
I have only ran outdoors so I recommend man made fibres. Check out Lidl running gear when in stock; cheap and vg value.
It depends where you are going to run so if you have to cross roads be sure to listen for traffic: stay safe.
As always slow and steady.
Congratulations to you Jopin72 on completing C25K with week 9 run 3.

Massive congratulations 🥇⭐️⭐️⭐️ ! You’ll enjoy it outside. Start somewhere quiet if you can. Include some grass or hardcore if you can - they’re kinder on the joints than tarmac or paving. And never expect the traffic to see you - always stay aware. Have fun out there x
