I've completed the first week but today really struggled with walking fast as my legs were aching alot. I managed to jog slowly for the runs. Was worried I have not done enough of brisk walking would anyone suggest repeating week 1 again or move on? I still struggle with the running after completing week one is this normal?

Yes it's normal. Try week 2, you may be surprised how much you can do! Ensure you get your rest days and remember if week two is too hard you can repeat week one.

Make sure you are going slow on the running parts and move on to wk2 you can do this 😊

It's possible you're trying to walk too fast. As long as you're very slightly out of breath when walking, that's brisk enough. And for the running, it's likely to be a bit of a struggle. I'd suggest go on to week 2 and see how that goes, just take it nice and slow. And let us know next week how you got on. Good luck.

Week 6 is the only one I haven’t done twice. A friend did the same and I thought better to do it comfortably than struggle!

I would be interested in hearing people's suggestions on this as I have also completed Week 1 and am also praying for each 60s run to finish and am a hot sweaty mess at the end. The thought of running for 90s next week worries me...

Most of us have felt that way. I still answer Jo, Sarah or michael with a rude word when they asks if i am comfy maybe i can pick up the pace!! And Ive graduated!!

Go slow, give yourself a visual goal, next lampost, corner etc... if something happens and you're not happy repeat a run. You can do it.!!

Welcome... have you checked out the post for Newbies? There is a wealth of information there about your runs.

If you did the runs, then move on.. very slowly and very steadily...just try to relax. If you are struggling, then slow down more.

In all honestly I think my brisk walk and "run" were the same pace just with different body movements. I wouldn't repeat the week as long as you've completed it.

Around week 3 I found a better pace between both and it wasn't until week 5 I found my good running pace.

Took me nine weeks of repeats to conquer week 1, so you’re doing great 😄 Are you very tense when you’re walking ? Slow down just a little and try to think about something unrelated to what you’re doing. Your legs will soon get the hang of it.

Try week two and see how it goes, you might surprise yourself and smash it but if not you can just repeat week one. I find that my walking, although fast, isn't 'brisk' and my jogging is slow but it works for me and that's what matters. Well done on completing week one!
