Hi all,

On a wing and a prayer here as doing a 5k with 1k of it obstacle course for charity on the 14th April! Wish I'd started sooner as now going to start Couch to 5k from week 5 as only 4 weeks to go! Currently playing netball 1-3 times a week so hoping this will give me a head start but I really am not a natural runner and have never enjoyed it when I've tried before! Hoping having the voices of celebrities in my head will have an additional benefit! Fingers crossed here I go...

You really should start from wk1 as you said you are not a runner you could set yourself up for an injury 😊

I agree with Buddy, it’s much safer to start at week 1. You’re going to raise some money for charity and have a lot of fun... walk some, run some... have a great day.

Keep going with the plan after and find your next run for after it.

Thanks guys, will do then, I'm terrified about hurting myself! I just got off the phone to the hospice I'm running for and they have agreed to meet me a couple of weeks prior to give me some motivation on the day!

Welcome to the forum and well done on getting started.

This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

You may have to accept that you will walk some of your 5k.

Please don't try to take shortcuts...... that only leads to one place.

Take care and enjoy the journey.

My daughter did an obstacle 5k a few years ago and she said that they had to wait to get on to each obstacle as there were lots of runners there and the obstacles were bottlenecks. This means that you can take a breather, maybe walk a bit up to each obstacle when you can see the queue. If you start for week 1 and run every other day, by the time of the race you should be able to run between each obstacle without too much difficulty.

Good luck. Hope you raise lots of money for a great cause.
