Went out an hour and a half ago for my 'winging it' run 3. I was kinda hoping I might be able to run 30 minutes with just 1 walking break, but I fear I had overrated myself. I ran 14 minutes, took a 2 minute walking break and wanted to do the next 14 minutes in 1 run. Alass my body was not up to it. I had to take another walking break after 7:30 minutes to have another 5 minutes left as a third and last run.
I was disappointed, but now I remember: listen to your body. My body did not feel up to running that long in 1 go and I paid for it. Better luck next time!
Oh and it was COLD! Running was fine, but the walk before and after, I felt as if my skin was freezing off. Nevertheless it was 4°C (feeling temp -1°C). I can still dress warmer like a pair of jogging pants over my running pants. But I fear it might be too warm during the run. Difficult...
No shame in having walking breaks! As they say, you build stamina and get stronger with every run. I wanted to brave the cold initially as well but caught a cold instead very quickly into the program, now i cant reccomend the layers more! Ive upped no of tops (2+hoody) since the temp dropped ❄and am running in long leggings and snood. Im much more motivated when im warm🌞
I was out too did a 3.5k . First 3 minutes had to walk as cold going for breathing . I am a bit like you don’t like a lot of layers on but top of legs felt numb with the cold , only wear leggings nothing on top of them. Same temperature here but I prefer colder weather but not like this to run in. After a while got used to it
Well done for getting out there and doing it. 👍 I went out last night with my new hat that a friend got me for Xmas.... Def made a difference. Happy New year 🎉🍾🥂
Well done Evy, 👍 you’re still out there still running and keeping fit, which is great, definitely need a few extra layers this weather 🥶.
I think you’d like the Nike Run Club app, it’s a free one with lots of runs of various times and distances, you can basically pick a time or distance that suits you, and increase either gradually. I’ve used it on most runs it’s great.
