Anyone else running with dog? Hardest bit is running on the spot trying to pick up poo!!!

Running with dog
....or when one dog is in front and one behind
I don't have a dog but my neighbour does, he sometimes asks me to take the dog for a 'walk' if he is very busy or not well. When I do take the dog for his walkie, it's actually a run, the dog pulls me along so thanks to my training on C25K I can keep up with the dog. I am really wondering if I could take the dog with me for a full 5K run and at the speed the dog pulls me I might achieve my 'dream' of running a sub 30 minute 5K, however, I am not sure if that happened it would count as I was being pulled by the dog.
I sometimes do. It can be challenging 😂
I try to let her off the lead and have a run around the park at the start so she can do what she needs to do and I can pick it up, then I put her back on the lead to run. Then she happily trots along at my side urging me to go faster!! Near the end I will let her off again to have a sniff around and generally be a dog. She loves it, and generally doesn’t try to stop while we are running with her on the lead.
yes,i run with dogs, luckily they do `jobs` on the 5 min warm up and then we meet the poobin on our route. creatures of habit

I have a dog and as much as I love him he does not run with me. Love that you jog on the spot to pick up the poo , if only people that walked there dogs all picked it up 😊
YY to the jog on the spot! We do the 5 min warm up walk which takes us to the bit where I can let him off the lead and its close to the poo bin but the little sod tends to go again when his paws hit the sand of the beach. Sometimes we run one way on the beach and the return on the harbour path with him on the lead but I have found that some faster running I end up pulling him as he doesn't want to break out of his smooth canter. So more recently I have been doing the whole thing on the beach so he can stop, sniff, sprint etc. He's good company and he has a sense of humour - I swear he laughed at me when I fell over the other day!
You're allowed to stop for bagging. Also for looking at the view, taking a photo, saying hi to someone. I used to be fixated with not stopping, even for a couple fo seconds but it really won't make any difference in the long term.
The only time you can't stop is when your head says I can't do this. On those occasions keep running.
My dog is a great running buddy, I let her off lead and she always runs close by, mine has the knack of going for a poo just as the five minutes warm up is coming to and end. I’d swear she does it on purpose!! You’ve to get it picked up and start on your run with your poo bag fashion accessory flapping about till you find a bin!! Still and all I wouldn’t change the set up 🐕🐕
Mine poo at random. I have developed running with poo bag into an art form.
Still it's not as bad as when I forgot my running bra and didn't realise till I started to run. Fortunately it was very early on. Running trying to effect minimum bounce gets you some strange looks 😂
